A transparent view of brands and operating-weight classes in a current China-based export inventory, followed by a field inspection framework for the faults that matter before purchase.
The sample is broad by brand but uneven in specification completeness. Brand identity is usually clear; operating weight is absent from nearly half of the qualifying pages. For buyers, a model name and meter reading are not substitutes for plate identity, measured undercarriage wear and a hot hydraulic test.
Inclusion required an active, published product whose public title or handle explicitly identifies a used excavator. Titles marked New were excluded even when historical tags contained the word used.

Operating weight was explicit on 337 pages. Within that known-weight subset, machines of 40 tonnes and above form the largest class at 24.9%, closely followed by 20-29.9 tonnes at 23.4%. The 316 pages without a parseable weight remain outside the class comparison.
