Hitachi Excavator Performance Tests: Read Results Correctly

Model, operating conditions and document edition are part of every useful test result.

A test result needs its conditions and reference

A cycle time, pressure or leakage reading is not meaningful on its own. For a used Hitachi excavator, record the exact model/variant, operating mode, temperature conditions, attachment, load and measurement method specified by the matched reference. Compare like with like. A phone video of an unloaded function is useful evidence, but it is not a complete hydraulic performance test.

Record Why it matters
Reference code and edition EX-5 and ZX-3 manuals use different test/standard chapter structures; section labels are not universal.
Engine/control mode and temperature Mode and warm-up conditions can change results; use the actual procedure rather than a remembered setting.
Attachment, load and test direction Empty/loaded bucket and boom/arm configuration are not equivalent test conditions.
Instrument, units and repeated result Record units and the defined acceptance criteria; one inconsistent reading should not trigger an immediate parts order.

What the inspected ZX200-3 TT contents actually cover

The 658-page TT1V1-C-00 volume places operational performance tests in Chapter 4 and troubleshooting in Chapter 5. Its performance-test index separates engine checks, machine checks and component checks. Examples include travel speed and deviation, swing behavior, swing-bearing play, cylinder cycle times and combined-function checks. A technician selects the applicable procedure and standard before interpreting the observation.

The inspected EX-5 training text places its standard tables in a different group from the ZX200-3 TT volume. The separate 14-page ZAXIS-3 standards extract also has its own edition context. Even an identically named test can have a different reference page or configuration. This public guide deliberately does not present one pressure, clearance or cycle-time limit as a specification for all Hitachi machines.

Use test evidence before buying a used machine

Ask the seller for machine identity, current working video and any available inspection/test records. A good report distinguishes what was visually inspected, what was measured and what still needs checking. YUANJIAN can discuss original-paint or refurbishment requirements together with the inspection scope, rather than treating fresh paint as proof of hydraulic condition.

Access, safety & five-year guidance terms

Public HTML contains original YUANJIAN explanations and selected catalogue information. Complete documents are not publicly downloadable; supply depends on availability, model/serial matching and permission. Manufacturer rights remain with their owners. YUANJIAN does not claim to be a Hitachi-authorized service center. Most references in this selection are Chinese, with an English EX-5 training text; this English/Spanish catalogue is not a translation of the complete manuals.

Guidance covers operation, maintenance questions and troubleshooting communication. It is not a five-year machine warranty and excludes free parts, consumables, freight, on-site labor and repairs. Pressure tests, electrical measurements, adjustments, lifting and disassembly require qualified technicians and the correct current service procedure. Stop operating a machine with unsafe leakage, unexpected movement, overheating or a critical warning.
