Enter your real quotation figures. The calculator separates customs value, duty, import tax and destination costs so one low machine price cannot hide an expensive route.
Calculation basis
Default planning customs value = equipment price + China inland/export costs + ocean freight + insurance. Duty = planning customs value × duty rate. Import tax uses the selected tax base. Total landed cost adds destination port charges and local delivery.
Use the destination customs authority or a licensed broker to confirm tariff classification, valuation, exemptions, import tax base and local charges. Rates are never filled automatically.
Before you rely on the result
1
Fix the trade term
Check whether the seller quote is EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP or DDP. Do not enter the same freight or handling cost twice.
2
Confirm the exact machine
Use measured packed dimensions and actual shipment weight after attachments, fuel and removed parts are agreed.
3
Verify destination rules
Confirm the HS classification, duty, VAT or sales tax, inspection requirements and age restrictions with the destination authority.
4
Price the final mile
Ask for port handling, storage risk, crane or low-bed charges and the road permit needed for an oversize excavator.
Why the formula is structured this way
WTO customs valuation guidance
The transaction value is the primary valuation method. On a CIF basis, transport, insurance and related costs to the place of importation can be included; post-import transport is not part of that customs value.
No. Add inspection, planned repairs, finance, registration and operating costs separately. This tool follows the import and delivery cost chain only.
Should local transport be included in customs value?
Usually it is a post-import cost in this planning tool, but the destination's law controls. Confirm the actual valuation basis with customs or a broker.
Why is machine weight required?
It produces a cost-per-tonne comparison and helps screen freight assumptions. Freight still depends on the measured width, height, length, dismantling plan and route.
Can I use a supplier's advertised freight price?
Use it only when the route, validity date, equipment type, surcharges, free time and destination charges are stated. Otherwise request a dated freight breakdown.
