Dated four-side images, configuration, cab, counterweight and attachments connect the identity to the physical item being sold.
Machine identity dossier
A readable plate is not enough. Identity is strong when model/suffix, frame serial, engine, controller or telematics, and service/export records describe the same unit without unresolved contradictions.
Use four states: verified, supported, unverified and contradictory. Never turn one plate photo into a claim about year, hours or origin that the record does not prove.

Dated four-side images, configuration, cab, counterweight and attachments connect the identity to the physical item being sold.
Manufacturer, exact model, suffix, serial/PIN and, when shown, mass or date. Photograph square-on and with surrounding context.
Find the stamp or secondary identifier specified by the manufacturer. Compare character by character; do not accept an improvised location.
Record engine model/serial, controller/monitor and accessible pump identity. Replacement may be legitimate but needs explanation.
OEM portal, telematics or serial-linked controller data can support model, hours, events and chronology within its coverage.
Work orders, invoices, inspections and transfers should progress chronologically under the same identity, not merely a similar model.
Invoice, packing list, declaration and bill of lading should repeat the agreed identity. Mask customer data before publishing evidence.
| Field | Minimum cross-check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Model and suffix | Plate, frame, monitor/portal, applicable manual and invoice | A different suffix may change engine, emissions, hydraulics, mass and parts. |
| Serial/PIN | Plate, secondary stamp, OEM portal, service and documents | One character can select a different production range or parts set. |
| Engine | Engine plate, history, controller and replacement invoice | A changed engine is not automatically fraud; an unexplained engine breaks continuity. |
| Hours | Display, ECM/controller, telematics and dated service | Sources can cover different periods; explain differences instead of hiding them. |
| Year | Production/service record or reliable serial-linked document | Sale year, manufacturing year and model year may differ. |
| Configuration | Images, plate, counterweight, boom/stick, shoes and attachments | Transport mass follows the actual configuration, not the family name. |
Two independent physical identifiers agree and a serial-linked electronic/documentary record confirms the same unit.
Physical evidence agrees and chronology is reasonable, but a complete OEM query or secondary layer is absent.
The claim may be true but only a plate, listing or partial document exists without sufficient cross-checking.
Two reliable identity sources conflict or the chronology cannot belong to the same machine.
Serial-linked portals and records strengthen identity only for the period and machine they explicitly cover.

Not always. Some markets show a date, but confirm production or specification through a serial-linked OEM/dealer record or reliable documentation.
The model groups a family; the suffix can identify generation, market, configuration or emissions. Use both for manuals, parts and shipping.
It can be. Record old/new engine, date, reason, invoice and compatibility. Without the chain, the assembled machine identity remains incomplete.
Not necessarily. Access depends on brand, market and account. Use the owner, authorised dealer or OEM portal and retain date/evidence.
It supports an initial conversation, not final parts, year or export confirmation. Verify the complete serial securely before payment.
Personal names, signatures, phone, email, address, bank details, tax identifiers and anything not needed to prove the transaction.
