Some used excavators look good because they have been repainted. Others look good because the original surfaces still tell a clean story. For a buyer comparing machines from photos, that difference matters.

It is more specific: original condition, original paint, and enough visible detail for a buyer to decide what should be checked next.

Why original paint matters

Original paint does not automatically prove perfect mechanical condition. It does, however, make the inspection more honest. Repaired welds, panel replacement, counterweight impact, boom cracks and rushed cosmetic work are harder to hide when the machine has not been covered by a fresh finish.

The 336D2 sits in a useful size range for earthmoving, road work, foundation excavation, quarry support and loading duties. It is large enough to move serious material, but still easier to place on many projects than a 45-50 ton machine. The buyer's real question should be whether this particular unit's condition supports the planned work and export budget.

A buyer should still request warm-machine operation, combined boom and arm movement, bucket curl under load, swing in both directions and travel in both speeds. After the machine has worked for a while, inspect the same valve area again. Fresh seepage after a hot test tells more than a clean cold photo.

Oil level, coolant level and visible hose condition should be recorded before shipping. If diagnostic access is available, logged fault codes should be photographed rather than summarized verbally.

What the photos suggest about use

The machine is not shown as a freshly repainted display item. The bucket has working marks, the undercarriage has soil, and the panels still carry original color and decals. For many overseas buyers, that is preferable to an aggressively polished machine where every surface looks the same and every mark has disappeared.
